Drawing Eyes

May 9, 2011

We have been drawing eyes for portraits and we might do the nose, mouth, ears, teeth and hair next time. We have learnt that your eyes shouldn’t be round, they should be more of an oval shape. In the oval shape you put a middle sized ball and then inside that ball you put a smaller ball. Then you have to make sure the middle sized ball is out of the iCal shape. Then you start colouring the shapes in. You have to do an outline to show where the eye is. Last of all you put the eyelashes.

You could use this video to help you learn how to do it:

  1. These are really very well observed eyes. You have looked so carefully at what you see not what you ‘think’ you see – there is a big difference. I hope that makes sense! Brilliant work – I hope you keep this up with other parts of your face. The result will be great to see.
