Modern Art to Music

November 26, 2010

For the past couple of weeks 4OQ have been working on creating modern art inspired by Kandinsky. Kandinsky used to use music to inspire his paintings, so we have been doing the same. We have listened to lots of different types of music, and had a go at drawing what we hear using free drawn lines, and geometric shapes.

Here are some of the ideas in progress, we will be putting all these ideas together in a final piece before Christmas…

  1. This is an excellent project and excellent artwork. I really like how the marks you have made represent the mood of feeling in the music. Everyone’s work really shows you have understood this – something that is easy to understand. I really can’t wait to hear and see more.

  2. This looks like a really interesting project. I really liked the different art work that did reflect the music I was listening to. I wonder if Kandinsky played the music that had inspired him when people viewed his work?

  3. I loved doing modern art to music it was brill i loved drawing shapes

  4. i loved doing it. it was brill and i hope we get to do lots of more stuff on music and doing lots of shapes after the christmas hoilidays 🙂
