Modern Art to Music

For the past couple of weeks 4OQ have been working on creating modern art inspired by Kandinsky. Kandinsky used to use music to inspire his paintings, so we have been doing the same. We have listened to lots of different types of music, and had a go at drawing what we hear using free drawn lines, and geometric shapes.

Here are some of the ideas in progress, we will be putting all these ideas together in a final piece before Christmas…

Performing Poetry

This week we have been reading lots of different poems and discussing the poems that we like. We chose a poem to perform and had a go at reading it with expression and changes in our voices.

Inspire Workshop

This morning lots of children from 4OQ brought their parents in to school to work on writing Kenning Poems. In just one lesson they worked out the rules for writing Kenning poems, mind mapped ideas and even wrote their own poems.

Finding patterns in addition

This morning we have been looking for patterns in Maths. We tried adding 4 consecutive numbers and looking at the patterns that the answers made. Some children then made a prediction of what numbers the thought would come next. Then they tested the prediction.
